Summary:
A Weatherization Retrofit Installer takes responsibility for the completion of the weatherization or carpentry portion of the scope of work on homes which have received a weatherization energy audit or other inspection.
Work will be consistent with the requirements and guidance provided by the U.
S.
Department of Energy (DOE) and the Missouri Department of Natural Resources/Division of Energy program guidelines, Building Performance Institute (BPI) protocols, the Standard Work Specifications (SWS) and JFCAC policies and procedures.
MAJOR TASKS:
The Weatherization Retrofit Installer will Implement weatherization work requirements and carpentry recommendations provided by the agency, on a scope of work generated for each home receiving weatherization services.
The Weatherization Retrofit Installer will perform the installation of items such as insulation, windows, doors, air sealing, vapor barriers, smoke alarms, and other items deemed necessary to reduce the energy burden in low-income residences.
The Weatherization Retrofit Installer will must be willing to enter confined spaces such as attics and crawlspaces to perform tasks.
The Weatherization Retrofit Installer will utilize all personal protective equipment (PPE) as appropriate for each situation.
The Weatherization Retrofit Installer will be responsible for the proper use, maintenance and care of tools, vehicles, supplies and equipment assigned.
The Weatherization Retrofit Installer will as the agency representative to the public, provide the customer, contractor and JFCAC with clear and concise correspondence, interaction and reporting as needed for the most effective Quality Assurance (QA) and project experience for each.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
High school diploma or GED (Additional college, trade, or related training preferred) Must have a valid driver's license and automobile insurance and possess and maintain a clear driving record.
Must have at least one year of experience in construction, home maintenance, HVAC, or energy management.
Must obtain OSHA 10 certification within 90 days of hire.
Building Performance Institute (BPI/HEP) Home Energy Professional Basics Certificate must be obtained within 90 days.
Must obtain Confined Spaces Certification within 90 days.
Must attend (BPI) Retrofit Installer training when made available.
OTHER REQUIRED CAPABILITIES AND
Qualifications:
Must possess good verbal communication skills.
Must be able to safely operate hand tools, calculate math and read a tape measure.
Strong attention to detail and customer service.
Must be a problem-solver, with the ability to think and problem solve on your feet.
Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
, reach overhead, walk on roofs, drive a vehicle, climb a two-story ladder, and climb through 24 square opening entering attics or crawl spaces.
Must be able to remain on your feet for several hours.
