JOB
Summary:
The position involves performing a variety of complex administrative services for one or more members of the Executive Staff.
Serves as liaison between elected officials, county staff, and the general public, and is the first level of communication with the general public.
Work involves the performance and coordination of a variety of complex, specialized administrative and clerical functions requiring independent judgment.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Performs administrative and clerical functions for one or more executives.
Schedules appointments and meetings for the assigned executive(s).
Drafts, prepares and initiates correspondence, reports, proclamations, public hearing notices, legal notices.
Answers, screens, and directs incoming telephone calls for the assigned executive(s).
Greets, screens, and directs visitors; provides information to inquiries, or refers to appropriate person or agency.
Answers and responds to citizens' questions by researching state and local government policies and procedures.
Opens, sorts, and distributes mail.
Serves as liaison between elected officials, the media, and the general public.
Assists office holders and department directors with questions.
Exercises confidentiality in the performance of the job duties.
Organizes and coordinates special events as needed.
Requisitions office supplies and maintain office equipment as necessary.
Establishes and updates office procedures.
Arranges travel reservations as needed.
Cross trains in other office duties.
Serves as custodian of records for the County Executive; processes Sunshine Law Requests; compiles information and prepares summary of charges and maintains County records.
Coordinates and maintains County Executive Board Appointments.
Processes bills and contributions in the FMS System Schedules/approves meeting requests for the conference and assembly rooms.
Serves as principal backup to the Executive Assistant to the County Council.
Coordinate agenda items and prepares all agendas for the Council meetings, including regular meetings, special sessions and work sessions, on paper and electronically, ensuring the Council Rules of Procedure is followed.
Posts notices of meetings in accordance with the state statute, state sunshine law and Jefferson County Home Rule Charter requirements.
(on bulletin boards, in paper form, and on the County sponsored web page in electronic form.
Places Agendas in the archive section on the County web site after meetings.
Assigns Ordinance numbers and ensures filing of all signed documents relating to Ordinances.
Maintains submitted Bills and Resolutions electronically in the appropriate folders in the shared drive.
Performs work at assigned location during specified business hours.
Performs related additional duties as required and assigned.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
