JOB SUMMARY The position involves providing general clerical support including assistance at the counter and via telephone.
Work involves providing general clerical support to the departments; including the sorting, processing and delivery of mail; providing customer service for the community and in-house staff; collecting and distributing documents and accepting payments for departmental programs; processing various printing, mailing and copying requests; performing general office support functions such as filing; and operating common office equipment in fulfilling clerical tasks.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Performs general clerical work including but not limited to answering of phones, greeting and assisting walk-in customers, distribution of mail, and general data entry tasks.
Provides internal and external customer service via phone, email and in person; responds to inquiries, takes messages, and refers inquiries to the most appropriate parties when appropriate.
Keeps appointment calendars and schedules appointments for staff and the general public seeking services.
Maintains and orders office supplies, as assigned and when needed.
Uses computers and word processing software to process letters, forms, reports, schedules, manuals, booklets, requisitions, purchase orders and related paperwork.
Assists in sending out billings and other mass mailings.
Performs basic research and compiles documents needed for various reports and management-level documents.
Prepares and completes forms and composes letters.
Sets up and maintains specialized paper and electronic office files.
May accept payments for fees, fines, goods or services as required by the department.
Files letters, reports and related technical information in the prescribed manner.
Opens and closes the office, performing computer start up and shut down procedures as needed.
Ensures all necessary forms utilized over the course of business are appropriately stocked and available daily.
Prepares, maintains, files and retrieves property records and maps used by Residential and Commercial Appraisal departments.
Maintains logs on calls regarding assessments, tax bills, property ownership and other relevant inquiries.
Updates mailing address changes and site addresses.
Enters personal property assessments from taxpayers at counter.
Assists taxpayers in filing their Personal Property declarations, researching to clear taxpayers for waivers, create waivers and tax bills for prior and current tax years.
Works with County offices throughout Missouri in verifying proper jurisdiction of taxing authority.
Assists Personal Property Division with editing certified records.
Prepares personal property BOE forms due to an amendment of a certified record and forwards paperwork to the appropriate department.
Prepares Personal Property Tax Credit forms on behalf of taxpayers and forward to the appropriate department.
Processes requests for tax maps and issues receipts upon payment.
Mails agricultural applications to taxpayers upon request.
Maintains a log of all maps and files pulled by title companies and issues monthly account statements.
Prepares 948 forms for Senior and disabled citizens (Tax credit).
Mails Homestead Preservation Credit applications and letters to senior and disabled citizens upon request.
Accounts for all receipts in accordance with office policy.
Assists with verification of mileage and expense reimbursement for office employees.
Trains and mentors' new hires.
Performs work at assigned location during specified business hours.
Performs related additional duties as required and assigned.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
