Quality Improvement Technician

Social Service Agency located in the St. Louis Metro area is seeking to fill a key position in our Quality Improvement/Risk Management Department. Under general direction, the Quality Improvement/Risk Management Technician (Q.I. Tech) works with the Chief Innovation Officer (CIO) to implement JFCAC's Continuous Quality Improvement Plan. Scope of responsibility encompasses the review of all aspects of the organization, programs, and services for compliance and quality. The Q.I. Tech assists with the identification and analysis of all areas of risk at the organization, as deemed necessary by the CIO.
MAJOR TASKS:
Major Tasks:
Develop and implement procedures to ensure ongoing monitoring of all programs and services at the agency.
The creation and identification of tools used to measure compliance and quality in all programs and services at the organization in accordance with the program's specific regulatory
Collects data and completes observations at the organization using standardized tools. Consolidate data collected, and inputs such into the QuickBase database system and/or other database systems, as necessary.
Prepares and shares field activity reports with the appropriate staff to inform about data collected.
Meets with appropriate staff to review data collected and reports generated for a specific monitoring visit.
Identifies program quality and compliance deficiencies. Monitors the completion of Action Plan(s) by staff, and monitors to ensure deficiencies are remedied in the appropriate timeframes.
Analyzes the data collected to identify areas of risk.
Reports collected data on a Scorecard; prepares and maintains Scorecard(s)
Facilitate monthly Q.I. meetings with the appropriate program staff
Assists in the completion of governing body reports and monthly or yearly QI reports for funders, as directed by the CIO
Creates and maintains review calendar for each of the programs and services at the organization, as deemed appropriate by the CIO
Create policies and procedures for the Q.I. Department. Facilitate the completion and review of policies and procedures for programs and service at the agency.
Assist with Implementing an Environment of Care Program.
Prepares a variety of technical, statistical, and narrative reports, correspondence or other written materials.
Keep current of any changes affecting federal rules, regulation, and guidelines regarding programs at the organization.
Keep CIO abreast of significant concerns or developments identified during quality improvement activities and actions taken to resolve concerns.
Education/Experience
Minimum of Bachelor's Degree in Communications, IT, Human Services or related field OR
One year experience in data processes, data collection, and data monitoring.
Experience with Federal and State programs, rules, and regulations. Familiarity with grant funded program's mandates. Knowledge of Community Action.
Experience using specialized database.
Experience providing training to adult learners preferred.
Must possess valid driver's license and insured automobile; ability to travel and attend overnight training.
Must pass all criminal history background checks.
Other Required Capabilities and Qualifications:
Computer literacy with ability to utilize word processing, spreadsheet, search engines, and other specialized software.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Ability to meet deadlines and perform effectively under pressure.
The ability to understand, interpret, and develop policies and procedures, as well as federal, state, and local regulations; and to educate staff accordingly.
Strong desire to learn and is self-motivated; takes initiative and can work independently.
Must be a self-starter with the ability to follow projects through to implementation and have well-developed analytic and problem solving skills.
Maintain strong working relationships with other staff and partners.



Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
